One of my most frequent memories of my Mom while growing up, is of her sanding and repainting furniture. She is a pro at seeing the potential a piece of furniture has and transforming it into her vision. She still does this and loves doing it.My sister inlaw Tasmin gave us her old and used rocking chair when Quinton was born. I just love this rocking chair and believe it is a beautiful piece of furniture, but like my Mom saw the potential it had to be even more beautiful. Tasmin had just painted it white to match her little girls room and by the time we got is had some dents and a few paint chips and the cushions need a complete transformation. I started working on it at the begining of June and my goal was to have it finished by the end of June. Well, June is almost over and it's not quite finished, but it is coming along. Sometimes when I look at it I feel confident that I can do it. Other times I feel like, "what the heck did I get myself into."

We spent Memorial Day at the Newport Beach. It was a beautiful beach day. Even though it was super crowded, we had a marvelous time.
We had to get a new car seat for Quinton, he was to cramped and uncomfortable in his old one. So far I think he really likes it. He loves sitting up and being able to see things. Also you can tell its really comfortable. It doesn't take him long to doze off.The new car seat was really difficult to figure out how to put together. For a while I think it was winning against Chase. But after a while Chase figured it out. I am so glad that he is willing and able to put things like that together.
Change is normal and part of life, add a baby to that and life is even more crazy. Here are just a few new things that have happened.-Q has teeth. Two at the bottom, which came in the middle of April. Two at the top which barely broke the skin a couple of days ago.-Q is scooting. He first scooted the day before he turned 9 months. He still hasn't figured out that he can go places, but if you coax him he will go.-Q has a regular sleeping routine. One nap in the morning, one in the afternoon and in bed by 10.-Q sleeps in his crib for the first part of the night.-This kid is like a tornado. He just moves and moves and anything in his path is destroyed.-He is now eating 2nd baby foods.-Chase will eat a couple of different casseroles. I think he likes them, but he could just be being nice. - I have a new calling in my ward. I am in with the young women as the personal progress advisor. Which is pretty fun, I am really excited about it.-Gave a talk last week. I thought it went pretty well.-Chase has new summer hours. Monday-Thursday 7:45-6:00, Friday 8:00-12:00. I think it's pretty cool. Chase isn't crazy about the longer hours.SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE-Q is still sleeping with us.-Chase still snores, talks and agressively moves in his sleep. (Kingsize bed would be wonderful)-I still haven't a good night sleep since before I was pregnant.-Q still spits up once in a while.-Still nursing Q and will continue to do so until he turns a year old. -I still don't like to cook, but I am willing to try new recipes. I like the easy ones that don't take a lot of effort.
Well thats all I can think of. I hope that catches everyone up on what is going on with us. We are still happy and content here in Cali. What a wonderful blessing for me to live where my husband grew up.
